Frontier Airlines has moved their corporate headquarters to Denver- which means they are pretty “wrapped” up in interior design projects. One of which was so technical, we called owner and founder, Reed Silberman, off the bench to install.
The project totaled just under 500 square feet of vinyl, large by any standards. However, it was the design in which the difficulties were created: hundreds of lines running over 11 panels of vinyl which represented flight paths all across the south and midwest. Any inconsistency in print or initial lining up of panels could throw off all remaining panels. Panel to panel, there was an extensive amount to register and line up. As a group who never backs down from a challenge, we also created our own challenge to ensure Frontier Airlines had a project which would last for years by choosing 3M’s IJ39 Scotchcal vinyl. Many flat wall vinyls on the market have air channels which assist in preventing air bubbles between the walls and the vinyl graphic. IJ 39 has a higher tack by not having these air channels and can typically last longer on a surface. By taking the hard-way, we’re able to ensure Frontier Airlines a longer lasting install.
Careful planning and preparation before heading out on-site allowed for a fantastic final project- see it come to life in the video below!
