Window Wraps and How to Use Them
With summer in full swing, it’s install season and it has kept us incredibly busy! Especially with window wraps and installs. At Ink Monstr, we considered ourselves the masters of wrapping, however we’ve been so impressed with how our clients have used them to change their locations inside and out so we had to share some of our best examples from the season. From displays for products to covering up unideal views- we look forward to seeing our
Bringing Character with Class to Downtown
Some of our most thrilling projects come from groups who seek to do projects solely for the sake of bringing art to their communities. Nine Dots Art is a highly celebrated firm who works to do just that. Designing and curating pieces for businesses who are ready to think outside the box is their specialty, and they come to us when those pieces need to stick, literally.
Nine Dots Art worked with the Colorado Historical Society to dig up these images from the 1920’s & 30’s, then installed them on the first floor of the Denver Marriott City Center. The images are on one of our perforated vinyl, as the restaurant behind them wanted natural to still flow into the room, however it allows for more privacy for guests. Imagery was chosen to bring character to the space without being overly flamboyant. Just eye-catching enough to make passersby do double-takes.
Construction Doesn’t have to be an Eye-sore
Whenever you hear “Aspen” your mind is transported to a snow-filled mountain town full of adventure. However, there are plenty of summer activities that also draw adventurers to the remote mountain town during it’s off season. The choice for our window wrap above came in two fold: weather is stable enough to finally complete outdoor renovations, yet guests are still plentiful during the “off” season.
Hotel Jerome, which boasts artistic character in every room, is reconstructing their outside courtyard before their busy ski season kicks off- but no one wants to see that! It was decided to bring the beauty of the outdoors into their lobby. Using 3M 8150 Clear Vinyl Window Wrap, the Aspen trees glow with natural light, highlighting the fall colors in the photos. Concrete, paint buckets and construction workers are all hidden and unobtrusive to guests. Once construction is completed, the panels are easily removed and can unveil the brand new courtyard to guests.
Seasonal Updates Keep Fashion In-Line
BC Surf & Sport has turned their window wrap into seasonally rotating branding. Working with their various partners, windows and flat surfaces around all three of their stores feature brands with images tied to the season. As the new line comes in, so do the new graphics that bring customers in who are ready for their next adventure. Our 3M IJ35C10 vinyl has the perfect amount of stick to last the season, but won’t damage surfaces when it’s time to change out.
As a retail out let that could easily get lost within the shopping malls they call home, the three BC Surf & Sport locations stand out and also serve their largest brands. Large statement pieces that keep viewers dreaming of their next exploit deliver a sell message, without screaming “buy me”. Letting the lifestyle of the apparel say more than any sale sticker could is a proven tactic for displaying gear without discounting the value of the pieces.
However you use a window wrap, just ensure to choose something visually eye-catching that speaks to your brand’s objective, decide whether you prefer to have it semi-permanent or seasonal, and decide if you desire a transparent or perforated vinyl for visibility through the window wrap.
